Crescent is a sans-serif display typeface. It is characterized by its condensed width along with its low horizontals. Its name comes from the tall, sharp curves in the negative spaces of the rounded letterforms. Many aspects of the letterforms in Crescent have been inspired by the Art Deco movement and the design of the letterforms that were produced in this style.

I designed this typeface during a semester long Typeface Design class. Once all of the capital letters of the font were completed, each student in the class picked one letter from their font to be carved into a linoleum block and printed on a printing press. I chose my "B" to carve and print because the design of this letter had the largest impact on the rest of the letterforms in my font.
